OPENING MONOLOGUE - (INT. COMEDY CLUB - NIGHT)
JERRY:
What's the deal with pockets? They're like little black holes, right?
You put something in, it disappears. Keys, wallet, phone… dignity. I
lost a remote in my pocket once. Found it six months later, perfectly
preserved, like an archaeological find. The battery was dead, of course.
Like my hopes of finding it.
SCENE 1: INT. MONK'S CAFE - DAY
[Jerry and Elaine are at a booth.]
JERRY: So, I'm walking down the street, minding my own
business, and I hear this faint buzzing. Turns out, it's my phone. In my
pocket. Dialing someone.
ELAINE: A butt dial. The scourge of our times.
JERRY: Exactly! And who am I butt-dialing? My Uncle
Leo. For twenty minutes. Twenty minutes of me humming, jingling change,
and occasionally mumbling to myself about the price of grapefruit.
ELAINE: Did he say anything?
JERRY: Not a word. Just heavy breathing. Like he was
enjoying it.
SCENE 2: INT. JERRY'S APARTMENT - DAY
[Kramer bursts in, holding a pair of oversized pants.]
KRAMER: Jerry, my pockets are too shallow! I can't
carry all my essentials. Look!
[He pulls various items from his pockets: a rubber chicken, a bag of
marbles, a grapefruit.]
JERRY: Essentials? You call those essentials?
KRAMER: A man needs his tools, Jerry! What if I run
into a flock of pigeons? Or a game of marbles breaks out? And a
grapefruit? That's just good health.
JERRY: You know, deep pockets are the reason I
butt-dialed Leo. My phone was lost in the abyss.
KRAMER: Abyss? Jerry, these
[gesturing to his pants] are abyss pockets! You could lose a
small dog in these!
SCENE 3: INT. MONK'S CAFE - LATER
[George sits with Jerry. He is wearing enormous, baggy pants.]
GEORGE: These are incredible! I can carry everything!
My wallet, my keys, my resume, my lunch…
JERRY: Your lunch?
GEORGE: Yeah, a tuna sandwich. Keeps my hands free.
[He pats his pocket, a squelching sound is heard.] Maybe not
the best idea.
JERRY: George, you look like you're wearing a circus
tent.
GEORGE: But think of the possibilities! No more butt
dials! No more lost keys! I'm a walking storage unit!
[His phone rings. He struggles to find it in the vastness of his
pocket.]
Hello?
[Muffled] Yeah, it's me…
[More muffled sounds] I'll be right there…
[He hangs up, looking panicked.] Kramer just butt-dialed me.
He's trapped in his own pants.
SCENE 4: INT. KRAMER'S APARTMENT - EVENING
[Kramer is lying on the floor, tangled in his oversized pants. Jerry
and George are trying to free him.]
KRAMER: My pockets… they turned on me! They're like
quicksand!
GEORGE: I told you, these pants are a menace!
[He pulls at Kramer's leg, ripping the pants.]
KRAMER: My abyss! Ruined!
JERRY: You know, maybe regular-sized pockets aren't so
bad. At least you can find your phone. And your dignity.
CLOSING MONOLOGUE - (INT. COMEDY CLUB - NIGHT)
JERRY:
So, pockets. Too big, too small, they're always causing trouble. Maybe
we should just get rid of them altogether. Everything out in the open.
Keys dangling, wallets flapping, phones… well, maybe not phones. Some
things are better left hidden. Especially if you're Uncle Leo.
